Do I actually know enough about PR to be taking this class?

Probably not.

But here we are.

So it's no secret that I plan on going into journalism in the near future, fingers crossed. So why in the world am I taking a capstone, 400-level, senior PR class you ask?

For my mass communications major I have to take at least one PR class and in all my infinite wisdom (read the sarcasm here), I decided to petition out of the the prerequisite, 200-level class, PR Theory, to take PR Techniques.

I had already taken Intro to Mass Communication and couldn't bare the thought of another class where I was learning about a topic, but not practicing it. PR Techniques just seemed so much more practical to me.

And on the first day of class, I wasn't ready.

Have you ever seen a 14-page syllabus?

8 projects, weekly AP style quizzes, weekly current events quizzes, a community partner. I am still reeling at the amount of work that is required for this class.

But at this point, all I can say is it's been an adventure. For each of my projects, I work with my community partner, the Greater Collegedale School System. Be on the lookout for some of these projects on my upcoming blogs.

(This will be a link. For now enjoy this random gif of a cat.)
